Our TEFL job placement program in Hungary

Teaching in Hungary offers a blend of professional fulfillment, cultural discovery, and European adventure. Based in the stunning capital city of Budapest, you’ll immerse yourself in a vibrant and historic destination known for its Art Nouveau architecture, delicious cuisine, and welcoming atmosphere. Placements are in Hungarian state schools, where you’ll teach a range of subjects in English alongside supportive local colleagues.

With a structured schedule of classroom and office hours, long holidays, and a large community of fellow foreign teachers, this program provides an incredible opportunity to develop your teaching skills, explore Budapest’s iconic sights, and experience life in the heart of Europe.

Positions are available at primary, middle and high schools in Budapest.

What's included?

Here's what's included in our Hungary TEFL job placement program:

  • Guaranteed job placement

    In a vetted primary, middle or high school in Budapest, teaching about 18 hours per week, with additional admin hours.

  • TEFL certification

    120-hour certificate from a top UK provider.

  • Visa guidance

    Visa and residence permit preparation and guidance.

  • Long holidays

    Including pay through the summer if you stay on.

  • Competitive local salary

    Approximately £1000 a month, depending on the school.

  • Pre-departure training

    Full access to online and in-person (London) training.

  • In-country training

    3 weeks of training when you arrive in Budapest in August.

  • Full support

    Full pre/post departure and in-country support, from application to your journey home.

Requirements

To be eligible for our Hungary program, you’ll need:

  • a passport from the UK, US, Ireland, Canada, Australia or New Zealand
  • a University degree in any subject (or in your final year)
  • a clean background check
  • funds available to pay the program fee and associated costs

Program cost

The Hungary job placement program costs £500, or £420 if you already have a TEFL certificate. You will also need to budget for visa and medical insurance costs (estimated £200), accommodation and living expenses, and flights to Hungary.
