The school
StudyRoom has been teaching English in Almaty since 2013. We work with children, teenagers and adults, and prepare students for IELTS, SAT and
TOEFL. Our student rating is 4.9 out of 5.
The academic team is four native-speaking teachers and fifteen local colleagues. New teachers get a mentor for the first months, weekly
methodology sessions, peer observations and structured feedback on their lessons. Teachers who bring ideas here get to run them: clubs, projects
and new course formats come from the staff, not from a memo.
One practical detail that teachers tell us matters most: our administration runs on an in-house system. Timetables, attendance, payments and
progress reports are processed automatically. You will not be filling in spreadsheets on your evenings off.
The role
- Teach young learners from Grade 1 upwards using phonics, TPR and play-based activities
- Teach General and Business English to adult groups
- Plan lessons around the level and goals of each group
- Keep short progress records for students and parents
- Join weekly professional development and observe colleagues
- Occasionally teach at partner schools, universities or corporate clients
- Take part in school events and community activities
