Job description

We are currently looking for a Director of Studies for our school in Lyon, France, to start in February.

ROLE:

To work in close collaboration with the Centre Director to look after the Didactic side of the school – teaching, learning and student satisfaction, applying the My English School Learning Method.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

• Recruitment and Training of new teachers. Training conducted through observations, training sessions and team meetings.
• Line manager for teaching staff. Ensuring that all teachers are aware of the procedures and workings of the school.
• Organisation of the student/teacher timetable using MyCenter program.
• Organising and communicating weekly timetables to teachers, and ensuring students at MyES have the right number of lessons.
• Reaching the goals set relating to the quality of lessons in the center, the budget for numbers of hours to be offered, and the guidelines of the company.
• Communication with Centre Director (at a weekly meeting) about difficulties and areas to improve within the school. Aiming for excellence on the didactic side.
• Helping to improve student satisfaction by getting feedback, and helping to resolve problems students may have.
• Teaching 2-3 hours per day.
• Organising company courses – preparing and sending teachers.
• Giving new ideas to make the school more fun and involving for the students.
• Organisation of social and other events (to be delegated to teachers).

Requirements

** You must be legally able to work in France (i.e. an EU passport holder, or a non-EU citizen with a valid visa) **

• At least 3 years teaching experience in a communicative method
• DELTA / DipTESOL / MA in TESOL an advantage
• Some experience of training others and management (not necessarily in EFL) an advantage
• Professionalism, fun and team focus
