Languages offered: English
Courses offered: Speaking English to children, teens and adults

Hello. We are WorldEnglish, a well-established English language school in Indonesia. At the moment we have three private English language schools in Surabaya and Sidoarjo.

About WorldEnglish, the English language school,
The idea of the school is new. We cater for those who really need it: The working class (Chinese) Indonesians.
Given this and the never-ending demand for English in Indonesia we thought it was time to open an ‘English for all’-school.

At WorldEnglish students of all ages can now learn English with foreign teachers. Teenagers and adults increase their chances greatly as English is in great demand on the job market and is directly related to salary.
Children can start learning English from as early an age as four years old! We have developed our own books especially for age three, four and five. In so we make the best available for those who need it most.

Our Students,
Our pricing system is set up in accordance to this. After just three years, we are proud to find that it has worked!
We are getting students who are sometimes a bit scared to sign up, have never learnt English in a private language school before, yet are very eager to learn.
Therefore, you will find our students are easy to handle in class, willing to learn and fun to be around; They love active and fun learning.

Working at WorldEnglish.
Since WorldEnglish is a smaller school, you will find that working here is not difficult. For most ages we work with a well-known series of books along with which come CD’s, video’s, workbooks and the like. Due to this, the administrative part of the teaching is made easy. The same goes for the teaching itself. For most modules in the book, there are example lesson plans around which give you the opportunity to kick-start your lesson planning, thus saving time, and focussing on what is most important: your individual focus on the students and your teaching approach.

What is Surabaya like?
Surabaya is a city with approx. 6 million inhabitants and home to the largest harbour in Indonesia. The city of course hums with economic activity. Indonesians are among the friendliest and tolerable people in the world, the majority of which are Muslim, a smaller group are catholic or Christians and a minority are Buddhists. A melting pot! Strange enough they all share the same passions: Shopping, eating out, and entertaining friends. It is not surprising that Surabaya is famous for its malls and 5-star hotels, and is home to one of the largest malls in South East Asia; the massive Tunjungan Plaza.

When it comes to shopping you may find the cheapest of cheapest Chinese made stuff in some malls as well as women’s handbags retailing for no less than 500 USD and up at Louis Vuitton.
So, you will not need to bring anything as everything that we have in the west is probably made here anyway!

However that, there is enough to do in Surabaya besides shopping, as there are a variety of country clubs, golf courses, tennis courts, fitness clubs and football and other sports facilities around. Since Surabaya is a multicultural city there is not much you cannot buy or eat. There are literally thousands of different places to eat, offering a variety of food from international to Javanese seafood and everything in between! You can eat a complete meal on the street for ten Dollar cent or pay from 15 to 100 USD and upwards in one of the five star hotel chains such as The Sheraton, The Hilton, or The Marriott,

How about travelling around Surabaya?
Travelling around Surabaya; Tretes and Trawas are 2 hilly regions just outside Surabaya and very popular. These are nice places for weekend getaways. In addition, there is Mount Bromo; an active volcano 3-hours by car from Surabaya. Then, there are of course Bali, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Lombok to while the holidays away!
