Job description

We’re developing a new online TEFL training course grounded in real classroom practice - and we’re selecting up to five experienced teachers to feature as Featured Teacher Contributors.

The course is being developed by Eslbase and School of TEFL, and is designed as a structured, practice-focused teacher training programme.

This is a paid and credited opportunity to have your classroom practice featured in a flagship teacher training programme. Your teaching will be analysed and used as part of the training itself, and contributors will be formally credited within the course. This is recognised, CV-worthy professional work.

Selection is limited. Teachers will be chosen based on experience, teaching clarity, and overall fit with the course.

Why contribute

  • Your teaching will be formally credited within a structured teacher training programme, as part of a selectively curated group of contributing teachers - a recognised professional contribution you can reference in future teaching, training, or academic roles

  • Your classroom practice will be analysed and used as part of the training itself

  • Suggested CV wording will be provided so you can reference your contribution professionally

  • Total potential compensation of £500 per contributor (£100 per accepted block + £400 milestone bonus)

What’s involved

Selected teachers will record one or two teaching blocks, each defined as a single, continuous 30–60 minute real teaching session, filmed in a normal teaching environment.

We’re particularly interested in:

  • Grammar-based lessons (adult groups)

  • Reading or listening skills-focused lessons (adult groups)

  • Business English lessons

  • 1-to-1 lessons

  • Exam-focused classes (IELTS, Cambridge, etc.)

  • Online lessons

  • Young learner lessons (with appropriate permissions)

We are also interested in short “unknown language” micro-lessons, and level test interviews with learners.

If selected, we’ll agree in advance which teaching block(s) best fit the course.

We’re particularly interested in lessons that include clear examples of core classroom techniques (e.g. eliciting, setting up tasks, checking understanding, modelling, feedback, etc.), as footage will be used both as full lesson case studies and as shorter illustrative clips within the training.

Payment

  • £100 honorarium per accepted teaching block, paid on acceptance of the block

  • £400 launch milestone bonus, paid once per Featured Teacher Contributor when the course reaches 100 total enrolments

  • Optional (separate): opportunity to join our affiliate programme with enhanced commission during launch

(The milestone bonus is paid once per contributor, regardless of the number of blocks recorded.)

Who should apply

We are looking for experienced, confident practitioners who are comfortable demonstrating clear, principled classroom technique on camera.

You should have either:

  • Significant classroom experience (typically 3+ years in structured teaching contexts), or

  • A higher-level qualification such as DELTA, DipTESOL, or equivalent, with solid classroom experience

We welcome a range of teaching contexts - group classes, one-to-one, in-person or online - as long as teaching is clear, principled, and professionally delivered.

Filming overview

Recording does not need to be cinematic. Clear teaching, stable framing, and good audio are what matter.

Full filming guidelines will be provided to selected contributors.

Permissions

Contributors must confirm that:

  • Filming does not breach their contract or institutional policies, and

  • Students are either not identifiable, or appropriate consent is held.

We reserve the right to discontinue use of any footage if a legitimate third-party concern is raised.

Salary and benefits

  • £100 honorarium per accepted teaching block, paid on acceptance of the block

  • £400 launch milestone bonus, paid once per Featured Teacher Contributor when the course reaches 100 total enrolments

  • Optional (separate): opportunity to join our affiliate programme with enhanced commission during launch

(The milestone bonus is paid once per contributor, regardless of the number of blocks recorded.)

Requirements

We are looking for experienced, confident practitioners who are comfortable demonstrating clear, principled classroom technique on camera.

You should have either:

  • Significant classroom experience (typically 3+ years in structured teaching contexts), or

  • A higher-level qualification such as DELTA, DipTESOL, or equivalent, with solid classroom experience

How to apply

Please send the following to keith@schooloftefl.org:

  • A brief summary of your experience (or your CV)

  • The teaching context(s) you could realistically record in

  • A short statement (3–5 sentences) outlining why you feel your teaching would be a strong fit for this project. Please write this in your own words - we’re interested in your authentic voice rather than a generic response.

Shortlisted applicants will then be invited to submit a 5–10 minute sample of real teaching filmed using their intended setup.

Please note that, as this is a curated course with a limited number of contributors, we are not able to accept every sample submission, even where teaching quality is strong. Selection is based on overall fit, usability, and balance across contexts.

We’re not able to provide detailed individual feedback on sample submissions.
