Job description

Join our team of teachers from around Taiwan and the world to provide high-quality English instruction to Taiwanese youth aged 12 and younger! With the support of a head teacher and area manager, and working closely with Taiwanese staff, you will use our proprietary curriculum to plan and teach comprehensive English lessons that center your students, guiding them through all aspects of the English language and encouraging them to use it freely and naturally. You will grade homework and assessments and communicate progress to parents through written reports and collaborate with your colleagues to put together extracurricular events.

About HESS Education
HESS Education is one of the largest providers of private English language education in Taiwan. In addition to our Taiwanese staff, we employ over 500 Native Speaking Teachers across 200 schools in Taiwan. We have over 40 years of experience providing quality English instruction to Taiwanese youth and helping energetic and empathetic aspiring teachers from around the world experience life in Taiwan. Our comprehensive, proprietary curriculum is student-centered and emphasizes natural English. This means, rather than classes being lecture-based and focused on rote memorization, we empower our teachers to create fun and engaging lessons for our students to experience and use the English language in a natural way.

Salary and benefits

• Competitive teaching pay: 680-730 NTD per teaching hour to start
• Annual raises and contract completion bonuses
• Additional 3,000 NTD per month for completing administrative work
• Guaranteed minimum of 20 teaching hours per week
• Comprehensive training and support throughout your first year and beyond
• Immigration document sponsorship and assistance
• Enrollment in Taiwan’s National Health Insurance program
• Flexible time off
• Potential advancement opportunities after your first year in curriculum development, recruitment, training, and management and mentorship
