Just what I needed
- United States – 9 April 2021
- Completed the course in March 2021
I am currently working on multiple TEFL certificates. This is the one I decided to begin with because it had the most user-friendly interface and the most support. The course was straightforward, with the quizzes constantly helping me go back and re-read the materials that I might have missed, which helped me learn a lot in the process.
120 Hour Advanced Tefl Course completed :)
- China – 3 February 2021
- Completed the course in February 2021
I’ve been teaching English in China for five years already but only had a 60 hour certificate, generally a 120 hour certificate is necessary to apply for a visa so therefore I was restricted to staying in China for the future of my teaching career. During the pandemic ESLbase kindly gave me a free 120 hour TEFL course through TEFL.ie and I’ve just finished the course with a couple of weeks to go before the 6 month access was due to expire :)
I’m so happy to finally have my 120 hour TEFL certificate because it means I can travel to lots of different countries and teach English, something I’m seriously considering once the pandemic situation improves. As for the TEFL course quality, it’s hard to compare because I didn’t try another 120 hour course, however I found it informative and not too difficult. As an experienced TEFL teacher I still learned a lot and got some good tips and it also reinforced some of my beliefs and experience that I have collected during my time teaching. This course is mainly just reading about the theories and watching a few examples of teaching through youtube videos. If you want some good practical experience before teaching in the classroom, I would certainly recommend a course with some classroom based hours to practice the theory!
Thanks to ESLbase and TEFL.ie, I now have my 120 hour TEFL certificate and I’m just going to try and finish the 30 hour grammar additional course that was given as a free addon with this course before the access expires.
Feeling well prepared
- Costa Rica – 19 August 2020
- Completed the course in August 2020
I completed the TEfl.ie 120-Premier Online Course and feel very well-prepared to embark on my teaching experience. The layout was very well designed and the list of references is very useful to keep. Learning about different teaching approaches has given me valuable insights to design my classes.
