American Language Academy (ALA) is an accredited institute approved by the U.S. Dept. of Education. Our students are from all over the world. ALA offers F-1 visas for international students to study full time in the USA. On-Line programs are also available. in virtual interactive classrooms.
ALA offers seven proficiency levels of English language instruction: Foundation English (Levels 1-3), Academic English (Levels 4-5), and Advanced Academic English (Level 6). All seven course levels, are part of the Intensive English Program. Students graduate upon successful completion of Level 5.
We offer English training for Academic, Professional, Business or Social purposes. All instruction is by experienced Master American native speaking teachers . You will progress at your own pace. You will receive a certificate for each level completed. ALA’s Intensive English Program is designed to offer the best learning experience and support to English learners to meet their needs.
Each level requires 200 hours of instruction. Student attend class 22 hours per week. Classes are scheduled from 9am to 3pm , Monday thru Thursday.
TOEFL and IELTS test prep courses are available online with teacher mentoring. These courses are 60 hours and students must have an intermediate level to start.
ALA accepts transfer student from other English programs at anytime and will assist with Visa documents.

English for Academic Purposes specializes in providing English language instruction for students who wish to attend an American university for their undergraduate or graduate studies. ALA has partnerships with 95 universities across the United States that provides international students with a pathway to admission to ALA partner universities upon graduation from Level 5. Our partners agreements allow ALA level 5 to satisfies their English language requirements for in lieu of a TOEFL , IELTS, or other standardized English test. The ALA graduation certificate assures the institution that the student possesses the English language skills necessary to succeed at the university level.
English Level Progression
Each level consists of 9 weeks, 22 hours of instruction per week, Monday through Friday
Skills learned for each level: Listening, Writing, Reading, Speaking, and Grammar
Experiential Learning activities designed for students to experience American culture
American cultural activities, field trips, and extracurricular social events throughout each session
Overall grade of 80% or higher to be promoted to the next level
Students must attend the minimum of 158 hours per level in order to be promoted to the next level
Level 5 graduates earn an ALA certificate of Intensive English Program completion
Over 20 ALA partner universities accept the ALA graduation certificate which waives TOEFL, IELTS, or other standardized English test scores!
