I know that choosing the best summer English course for your child is not an easy decision. My parents sent me to language schools in Europe when I was a teenager. I am sure your child is as excited and nervous as I was. I remember the care they took in selecting the school and the wonderful experience I had as a result.

Here at the Isca School of English, we want your child to feel safe and happy. We want them to feel as safe and happy as they are at home while they learn English and have fun in the UK! Over 50 years of my family’s experience goes into making the Isca school of English a school where every student is equally important to us. We will do our best to make sure your child has the best experience possible. Our aim is to teach the young people who study here as much English as we can and to provide an enjoyable programme of activities and excursions. You will find us near the city centre of Exeter (in the south west of England) based in a beautiful Georgian building with lovely gardens and fantastic facilities.

We are a British Council school and in our latest British Council inspection we were awarded 13 strengths out of 15 possible categories. We are currently ranked 9th out of all of the British Council Accredited schools (including universities, chain schools and residential schools). We are (and have been)the top family-run school in the UK since 2017 and a centre of excellence since 2013 and were established in 1966!

Although our British Council Accreditation is important, it is really the family element to our school which makes Isca so special. I grew up in the school and after over 50 years I know that the Isca School of English offers a unique English experience where different generations of families make friends with other students from across the world as well as with my family. These friendships are why students return here year after year and why they send their children!
