Job description

To plan and deliver a suitable TEFL programme to International Summer School students to help them become confident users of English.

• Deliver a suitable and developmentally appropriate programme in conjunction with the Academic Manager to an acceptably high standard
• Attend the induction course and carry out any pre-course work as required
• Help students achieve their individual best to become confident users of English
• Encourage full student participation and learner independence
• Be involved in the smooth integration of both British and international students
• Attend regular staff meetings as required
• Plan and teach within the Prep-UK framework
• Set and take part in evening prep
• Take class registers/ records as required
• Complete any required reports on individual students
• Undertake residential duties as appropriate
• Carry out preparation, marking homework and administration
• Work collaboratively to conduct project classes each Sunday
• Ensure commitments in regards to child protection and welfare are adhered to and best practice followed
• Take all necessary steps to minimise any risk and report any concerns/feedback to the line manager
• Carry out any in-house duties as reasonably requested
• Carry out other ad hoc duties as reasonably requested

Salary and benefits

£350 per week depending on skills and abilities


• CELTA or equivalent
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required
• Ability to relate to staff at all levels within the School, to build effective working relationships and exercise tact and diplomacy
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
