Job title

EFL Teacher

Job description

UKLC has yet again secured European Social Funding via the Erasmus+ programme for the seventh time in a row. This programme allows us to run our renowned teacher training project, Leaders In Language.

The CELTA/CertTESOL courses deal predominantly with how to teach English to adults and give little or no direction to trainees about how to teach young learners and teenagers (7-16 years). We offer extra YLs training before you leave for Spain and, upon arrival there, most people will be placed in primary or secondary schools where you will be able to put your theory into practice over a four week period.

The project aims to offer extra training to fifty newly qualified CELTA/Cert.TESOL teachers followed by a place on one of two 4 week-long voluntary placements (with 20-25 participants on each placement) in our partner schools in the Valencia region in Spain and in Oviedo in northern Spain. The first training week will be from 13th January 2019 and the second from 10th March 2019 (both UK based). The placements will be a month long from the 20th January 2019 and the 17th March 2019.

The purpose of the project is to help teachers who have little or no teaching experience gain more experience in the world of teaching and hence make them more employable in the UK and ultimately open doors for them to opportunities around the world.

Salary and benefits

The placement is voluntary but the following will be provided:
• Flights to and from Spain
• Travel Insurance
• Accommodation
• Transport costs between your school and place of residence
• A small weekly allowance

We do not provide:
• Transport to and from the training sessions
• Transport from the UK airport upon your return home

Requirements

All applicants are required to have a CELTA or CertTESOL qualification and little or no teaching experience. A degree is also a plus.
