Job description

Uptown English is looking for a new teacher to join our team of teachers until the end of the 2019-20 academic year. The job includes a mix of primary school students, teenagers', adults' and official Cambridge English exam preparation classes. Teachers receive professional training and mentoring along with an excellent salary and conditions. Additional information about the school and its owners available at www.uptownenglish.es

Uptown English is a small school in Horta, Barcelona, a quiet neighbourhood just outside of the city centre, which is very well connected by metro and bus lines.

There are part time and full time timetables available. The hours are blocked and in the afternoon.

The school has a friendly welcoming atmosphere which comes from working in a small, enthusiastic team of excellent teachers. Teachers are provided detailed course guides and overviews to help them with lesson planning. Teachers also have experienced mentors to help with lesson planning, classroom management and the teacher's professional development as well as ensuring that lessons are fun, dynamic and engaging for students.

All classrooms in the academy have versatile interactive whiteboards, high speed fibre optic internet connection and all teachers have access to our bank of materials as well as subscriptions to websites which can be used for resource and game creation.

Salary and benefits

15.50€ hourly pay before tax.

Requirements

• EU nationals or non-EU nationals with legal right to work in Spain
• Teachers with native level competence and pronunciation
• CELTA or TESOL
• Knowledge of Spanish/ Catalan a big advantage
• 2 years previous teaching experience including experience working with young learners
