We are looking for a teacher to join our team for the next academic year.

Shark'o School is situated in Puerto del Rosario, Fuerteventura (Canary Islands).

We have fully-equipped classrooms with interactive whiteboards, internet connection and access to our bank of supplementary material and resources.

• Small groups (10-12 students)
• Students are grouped according to level and age
• All students and teachers have their own books
• Ages range from 4-years-old up to adults
• Levels from Beginner to Advanced
• Preparation for external examinations: Cambridge YLE, KET, PET, FCE and CAE
• Classes taught on premises

Teacher's responsibilities -
• Preparation and imparting classes
• Attending meetings
• Preparation of exams and their correction
• Writing of term reports

Salary and benefits

Full time contract from 16 Sept 2019 to 16 June 2020. 34 contract hours (20 contact hours/week). Timetables Monday-Thursday (plus 1 or 2 Saturday mornings a month). At the end of the contract an "Indefinido contract" will be offered if the experience has been favorable for both parties.

A very competitive salary: 1.187€ net. Different contract hours proportional

• Legal Spanish contract with full Social Security benefits and health coverage
• Paid holidays: Christmas, Easter, local and national bank holidays
• Assistance on arrival, help with finding accommodation and paperwork
• Full support from experienced teachers in planning classes and a wide range of materials


• Native level speaker.
• EU national/valid work permit basic requirement. Please do not apply if you do not have valid EU working papers
• University degree in Modern Languages preferred
• CELTA/DELTA/Trinity College TEFL qualification preferred
• Experience with Cambridge and Trinity exams highly valued
• Demonstrable (and contactable) references and referees
• Ability to speak Spanish is an advantage
• IT skilled or willing to learn
• Criminal record certificate (You will be working with children)
