Job title

EFL Teacher

Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced English teacher with a passion for working with children.

The English Studio offers teachers the freedom to create fun play-based lessons, alongside the task of preparing students for TRINITY/Cambridge (KET/PET/FIRST/CAE/CPE) and IELTS. There is a clear academic program to be followed, but much freedom as to how you go about it!

We take students from the age of 4 right the way up to adult learners. Support is provided for any new teaching experiences, which includes aid in lesson planning, bouncing ideas and providing workable material.

Class sizes are small, ranging from individual classes to a maximum of 6 students per class. The majority of our students are between 7 and 12 years old, which is why having fun is our main objective. Teachers must have an excellent understanding of grammar and step-by-step instruction, but very importantly they must be able to transform work into play.

We also offer project based outreach work in local schools. Teachers happy to work a couple of mornings/afternoons a week with larger class sizes in state schools (bringing some fun to the subject!) will hold an advantage over other candidates.

As it is a private school, we offer a minimum of 25 hours a week from 3-8pm (Mon-Fri), with additional morning classes for adults.
Teachers absolutely must be native level English speakers.

The school itself is based in Foligno, a lively medieval town in central Italy.

Salary and benefits

Teachers work an average of 25-30 hours per week at an hourly rate of 12EUROS per hour / 14 EUROS per hour for outreach: 1200 -1500 EUROS per calendar month.

We offer work through the summer at our five week Summer Camp 'English in Wonderland'

The English Studio will help you obtain official documents, open a bank account and find accommodation.
