Teachers deliver classes to children, teenagers and adults.

Courses at the BLC are short courses which are generally five to eight weeks in duration and include midterm and final exams as well as short assignments and oral assessments.

Teaching related administration along with planning, marking and report writing is undertaken outside of the 24-30 hour teaching schedule. Most weekly schedules involve teaching 24 hours, this post is full time - 40 hours per week so the remaining time involves lesson planning, administration and team meetings/workshops.

The majority of classes take place in the afternoon and evenings (3.30-9.50pm four to five days a week).
Working hours are generally Sunday-Wednesday 2-10pm and Thursdays range from 10-6pm through to 2-10pm. Xxx schedules are more flexible due to Covid-19

The weekend in Bahrain is Friday and Saturday.
At times classes, for operational reasons classes might be scheduled on Saturday.

The centre received "Outstanding" following its last quality review by the Educational Quality Assurance Authority in Bahrain.

Salary and benefits

Please note that the centre offers one and two year contracts, salaries range from 775-900 BD depending upon experience, accommodation, return flights each year, visa sponsorship and employee insurance.


Educated to degree level—preferably in English/Education/TESOL or
 Business.
 Qualification in ELT—CELTA
 Excellent command of the English Language.
