Language Link Ha Long is seeking a Senior Teacher/Academic Coordinator for its brand new centre.

This is an ideal location to explore the rural landscapes of Vietnam.

The Senior Teacher/Academic Coordinator (ST/AC) is contracted to work 130 hours per month, timetabled by the immediate manager with consideration to class requirements.

The ST/AC will report directly to the centre manager/CEO and be responsible for:

• Manage and be responsible for all the teachers at the centre
• Maintain and improve academic quality through observation and performance review for teachers
• Maintain work ethic and professionalism of teachers
• Provide daily support to teachers and TAs in all academic areas
• Receive Student and Parent feedback and address with teachers and TAs
• Communicate with Operations as appropriate for additional actions or quality control system updates
• Handle all program related issues from teachers and TAs while onsite
• First responder on disciplinary issues. Escalate for resolution where necessary.
• Work with Scheduler on hiring teachers and TAs
• Organize training workshops, sharing sessions and teacher meetings
• Conduct placement tests and train teachers on placement testing
• Be responsible for other tasks assigned

• Work closely with the Center Managers to ensure clear communication between academic and business needs
• Field concerns/complaints from Operation about all teacher-related issues
• Work closely with the scheduler on issues such as scheduling, cover classes, course teaching suitability, etc
• Handle any student/class issues from teachers and escalate for program needs or issues of placement testing.
• Develop and maintain academic materials for centre use
• Be responsible for supporting business activities (Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, etc.)

• AC/ST will teach their own classes (up to 50 hours/month)
• The AC/ST will provide cover in case of emergency and if fits with his/her schedule

• The AC/ST is responsible for centre-specific development (holiday lessons, specific supplements, etc.)
• AC/ST will also contribute to broad curriculum development or contribution to large-scale academic development projects

Salary and benefits

Expected salary of 50,000,000 VND/month gross

• CELTA, Trinity CertTESOL. Other TEFL certificates may be considered
• BA/BSc degree in an academic subject
• Clean Police Clearance Check
• Must be a native English speaker or equivalent with evidence of high proficiency
• Verifiable references
• At least two years’ experience teaching English from young learners to adults (preferably in Vietnam)

• DELTA or equivalent
• Middle-management experience
• YL extension (TYLEC, CELTYL, IHCYLT)
• Previous ESL management experience
