We are currently accepting applications for English and Spanish teachers for Peace Boat's language training programme, GET, is now accepting applications for English and Spanish language teachers for the 122nd Global Voyage. Teaching practical English and Spanish through GET’s task-based learning approach, you have the opportunity to learn yourself from a diverse group of guest educators, including academics, peace-builders, sustainability advocates, entertainers, and more, all while circumnavigating the world by sea!

The 122nd Global Voyage departs Yokohama, Japan on December 15, 2025 and returns to Yokohama, Japan March 31, 2026. Embark on a remarkable voyage to the Southern Hemisphere and witness some of Earth’s most magnificent natural wonders. We’ll visit Africa, the birthplace of the ancestors of all humanity, and South America, the final continent to be inhabited by humans, and several cultural crossroads where diverse civilizations have coexisted for centuries.

Salary and benefits

Please note: this is a volunteer position, however, most voyage expenses are covered such as food, accommodation, and required visas.

Requirements

Basic requirements: 18 months of relevant full-time experience teaching English and Spanish as a second language. Be highly advanced speakers of English or Spanish. Note: it is not necessary to be a 'native' or 'first-language' speaker. Be available for the voyage (including online training and pre-voyage orientation periods). Obtain all relevant visas required to participate in the voyage they are applying for.

*For Spanish teachers: Please note that all teacher-related GET Programme administrative activities and correspondence are conducted in English. All application material, with the exception of actual Spanish-language lesson content, should be presented in English.
**All successful applicants must be able to attend the pre-voyage orientation to be held in Japan or online roughly one week before the official departure date.

The application deadline is until Friday, August 22, 2025 close of business JST. Interviews will be conducted online from September 8th-12th JST.
