    Hi,

Are there any differnces between these two questions?

    1. Has she gone to bed already?

    2. Has she gone to bed yet ?

    Thanks

Reply To: yet – in the question sentence

    1. Has she gone to bed already?

We normally use "already" with present perfect to show that something happens earlier than expected.

So, in this sentence we can imagine that the speaker is surprised to find that she is in bed at this time.

    2. Has she gone to bed yet?

We normally use "yet" in present perfect questions to show that we expect something to happen.

So, the speaker doesn’t know whether or not she has gone to bed, but expects that this action/event will happen.

    Hope that helps.

    Dan
