Hi I am a newly qualified teacher, I did the CELTA course, I don’t have any teaching experience, I have a masters degree. I was thinking of working in Turkey, has anyone on here worked in Turkey, any advice on which schools to go for and which to avoid, the best ways to search for work would be greatly appreciated. I have never been to Turkey and was wondering if it would be better to go there for a holiday and approach some schools directly. Thanks

Probably best to get a job sorted out before you go; approaching schools directly is a valid way to find work but less sure and you run the risk of simply being unlucky and having to leave the country and go home because you ran out of money before you find a job.

Here’s some basic info on TEFL in Turkey.

As for which schools, it can be pot luck really. Most are genuine and good so it shouldn’t be too much of a problem. Where are you thinking of going exactly in Turkey?
