I currently spend 6 months of the year in the USA and the other 6 months throughout Europe. We’re in a great position to be able to travel but I’d like to undertake a course that would enable me to continue travelling but have the opportunity to teach the English language in the places we visit. There is an abundance of courses and costs but I’d appreciate some advice on what courses would be the best to start with that would support my plan. Also are there any providers in the North East of England.

    Many thanks

    Hi

What is your budget for a course? Ideally I would suggest a 100 hour or more classroom based course. The CELTA and Trinity Cert TESOL are the most widely recognised, but there are many others of similar duration and quality. Taking this kind of course will allow you to work in the widest range of countries possible which, judging from your post, is important. A shorter or online course will limit your destinations.

There are courses In the north-east of England – have a look here: http://www.eslbase.com/courses/uk/

    This might also help: http://www.eslbase.com/intro/courses

    Hope that helps.

Thank you, Dan for the answer. I was also curious about this matter and looking for an info, and just now saw your post. It really came in handy, so thanks a lot.
Maybe you also now, what is better option Cambridge CELTA or Trinity Cert TESOL? I travel a lot and I would like to start teaching in various countries but not quite sure, which certificate will be better for this purpose.

    Regards,
    Linda

LindaMerrill – the CELTA and Cert TESOL are pretty much equally recognised and accepted so it doesn’t really matter which one you choose.
