    This morning we were advised by the China Consulate that they will “probably” open the borders for TOURISTS and BUSINESS TRAVELERS for a maximum of 30 days but will have to undergo testing at the airport if you cannot provide a certified negative COVID test certificate no more than 72 hours old, and 100,000 rmb cash equivalent and hotel reservations that they will confirm to prove you are a genuine tourist or business traveler.

    As for Expat workers, including foreign teachers, they said they anticipate allowing them back into China after the Chinese new year and they will confirm this again in December.
