    Hi everyone,

I am looking to move abroad to South America to teach English in early 2011.
I will be completing my TEFL course in April, and am busily learning Spanish.

I would love to know if there is an online community to help TEFL wannabees find travel buddies. It would be great to go over in a small group so that people that are new to teaching English and living in South America can go together.

I know the main sites for finding TEFL work, and appreciate that most people go to SA first, then find work. Any other useful sites or tips will be welcome.

    Thanks in advance,

    Phil

I’m flying back and forth regularly from Europe Phil.

    I’ve never taught English though.

What I’m wondering is what is the approximate rate of pay in Buenos Aires now? The minimum perhaps. Is it breadline or a little better now with the exchange rate rising.

I ask here because I don’t really want to go into a school and ask of course.

    Hey Phil,

I’m also looking to go to Buenos Aires soon to teach English. I’ll be completing my certification in december, and I plan on flying out in January. When are you planning on going?

Have a look at this newly updated page about Argentina which should answer your question.
