Hey there!
I have so far had 0% luck in finding a job in Morocco.
Every school I apply to either never replies back or tells me I need a MA/BA or equivalent in English. Then I read that this is only for those who are in need of a work permit.
Does anyone have the real scoop on TEFL in Morocco?? Would be a big help! Much thanks!
P.S. I will be marrying a Moroccan citizen so I guess this makes things a bit different right? In this case I will not be needing a work permit…allyParticipant23 February, 2007 at 10:08- Total posts: 7

Hi, I taught English in Morocco for three years. I think the best thing for you to do is go out there, find out where all the language schools are and start handing your CV out. I worked for a school (closed down now) that used to hire teachers without MA/BAs in English, the only required qualification was a TEFL certificate… I’m sure the same goes for a few others… Good luck!

Hi
We have a number of contacts with schools and teachers in Taroudannt, at primary, secondary and college levels. With the help of a network, it is much easier to find out about what opportunities there might be.
I would recommend starting off providing some teaching as a volunteer, and, as another poster has said, handing out your CV – you will find the right opening after a while.

Hello,
I am in the process of obtaining my TEFL Certification. I am very interested in going to Morocco, specifically Casablanca, since my in-laws live there and I am very familiar with the city, to teach English. Only one problem, I don’t have a Bachelor’s Degree. Do you know of any schools in Casa that employ TEFL teachers w/o a degree? Thanks!!

As far as I’m aware, a degree is not a legal requirement to work in Morocco (correct me if I’m wrong anyone?) – I have a friend who worked in Casablanca perfectly legally without a degree.
Whether it’s a requirement of individual schools – only one sure way to find out… I would get in touch with some schools in Casablanca once you have your teaching certification, and enquire about teaching vacancies.
