Hey everyone. Im new to the site. I want to take a TEFL course in Chicago while Im here but they r expensive so i dont want to make a bad decision

I have picked this 120+ hour course: http://www.teflinstitute.com/TEFL-usa-Chicago.php

does anyone know if its accepted by employers as a decent qualification from this crowd?

    Hi Stu

    Welcome to the forum.

From a look at their syllabus, this seems a sound and comprehensive course. It is one of many that have a similar-ish syllabus to the CELTA and Trinity Cert TESOL qualifications. It includes a teaching practice component, which is important – employers who request a CELTA, Trinity or equivalent will be looking for this.

With any course that you think about taking, be sure to do a thorough Google search for the name of the course to see if you can find any other feedback about the course or the institution.

    Hope that helps.

I would think that qualification would be acceptable, but just to be 100% sure I would ask some people around where you would like to work and find out first hand.
