Hi
I’m working in Barcelona, Spain and I have my first ever business English 1-2-1 class next week. He’s a lower intermediate level financial manager. He’s going to be using Business Objectives as a course book (this is all the school has), and I’ve had a look at it – it looks okay but I don’t like just following a book without any supplementing. The school is lacking business English material… Has anyone used this book and know of where I can find some good supplementary material?
Thanks in advance, davinda…

Hi,
My name’s Sedat and I just wanted to help you on expanding your program with extra material teaching Business English in 1-2-1.
Please see this webpage and reply to me if you find it worthy as I consider this webpage very useful and very good thanks to Macmillan.
Enjoy your classes

Thanks sedatlimani
That looks like some good material there, I’ll certainly be using some of that.
I was also recommended the book Market Leader – the school doesn’t have it, but it seems they have a good website with some extra material – have you ever used any of that?
Thanks again!

Market Leader is about the best business English coursebook I’ve ever used. It’s up-to-date, informative, relevant. They have some good supplementary material online. A lot of it is based around abridged Financial Times articles. Definitely recommended.

Wow, I was lucky to find this. I’ve also recently begun to give business English lessons, 1-2-1 as well. The trouble is, most of it has to be conversation, and although I have some experience with conversation classes, it’s the first time I teach individual lessons. Any tips, ideas and suggestions would be most welcome. Right now we’re reviewing the basic grammar he’s done until now, but when we’re through with this… well, I guess I have some thinking to do, but I’d really like some help from more experienced teachers!
