Tag questions in indirect speech

    please someone tell me.
    how do we change tag questions from direct speech into indirect speech?????

    We don’t include the question tag when we change it to indirect speech.

    It would therefore depend on whether the question tag is being used to ask a real question, or just to ask for confirmation of something that we already know. For example:

    You’re playing football, aren’t you?
    (rising intonation in the question tag – indicates a real question)

    would probably become:

    She asked him if he was playing football.

    You’re playing football, aren’t you?
    (falling intonation in the question tag – indicates that we already know the answer, we just want confirmation)

    might become:

    She said that he was playing football.
