Hi everyone! First post! I’ve just finished uni (and don’t want to start working yet!), and I’m considering my options. I’m thinking about doing a TEFL course, and was wondering what motivated you to do it. Any info/advice would be great, thanks!

Do it! It’s the best decision I ever made. I’ve lived in Thailand, Spain, Indonesia, Poland and Japan (still living there now and can’t see myself leaving). And this is what motivated me, the chance to get to know new cultures, new people, do something different – the usual cliché I suppose, but I wouldn’t change it for anything. Think of a country you’ve always wanted to visit, and imagine not just visiting for a one week holiday, but actually getting to know the place. Then think about being back in the UK and doing the same thing in the same place every day… I wouldn’t recommend teaching in Western Europe, that’s the only place I didn’t enjoy too much (Spain) simply because the salary is terrible compared to the cost of living.
