Does anyone have experience with the Asian College for Teachers in Bangalore, Kolkata, Mumbai, Singapore, Bangkok and the list goes on?
The school has a well composed website presentation, offering a broad range of ESL courses, that are alluring, especially their tuition fee structures. ATC even provides it’s own “How To Recognize and Avoid TEFL course Scams” page.
The problem came when I began to pose pertinent questions to the ATC Chat board operator, who was unable to spontaneously reply to questions – i.e., “can I make direct, on-site tuition fee payments at your branch office location in Bangkok, instead of online? No spontaneous answer, and a 5 min. “Chat Board” wait, before getting “contact our program coordinator” as the answer. No name, or contact number for that so-called program coordinator, was provided, even after having to asked for it.
In addition, ATC is demanding full-payment of tuition fees, via PayPal, Western Union, Credit Card and several other exchange platforms, prior to “enrollment” into any of the their courses.
