I’m almost done with my 40-hour teaching certificate and I would really like to teach in Hanoi, but now i’m concerned because i’ve researched quite a bit and I can’t seem to find any paid teaching position there that doesn’t require a college degree. Is there any paid teaching position in Hanoi that I can get as a native speaker with a diploma from a certified 40-hour TEFL course but no college degree? :?:

Yeah, it could be difficult to find "official" schools who will give you a job with your profile – like you say, most of them need a degree and a longer TEFL cert. But there’s nothing to stop you going there and picking up work with one of the less official or well-known schools. All depends on whether you want to do things by the book or not…

    Hi Isabelle

Have a look here for some advice from other teachers about working in Vietnam.

    Hope this helps – Keith
