Hi there!
I’m brazilian and I work as an English teacher.
Lately, I’ve been thinking about spending a couple of years in Germany, but I’d like to keep doing there what I’m already doing here, though.
What are the steps I must follow in order to succeed in this journey?
I’m able to teach English and Portuguese (native language). I work on the books at a very well known English school in Latin America.
I hope you guys can give some advices, ’cause, to be honest, I don’t have a clue on how to begin with it.Thanks in advance!

Reply To: Opportunities in Germany
As I understand it, most schools in Germany have a strong preference for native speaker teachers, or at the very least for you to have spent some time living in an English speaking country. Have you spent any time in an English speaking country?
I’m not sure about the demand for Portuguese teachers in Germany, but perhaps this could be an option to get your foot in the door? if you’re able to find work teaching Portuguese, then you’ll be "in-country" – applying for English teaching jobs in person may prove more successful than applying from Brazil as a non-native speaker.
Hope that helps?
Dan
