    Hello,

I’m new to this forum but very happy to have found it, as there’s so much useful info on here!

I have just started a part-time Celta course and I’m in the middle of my first language analysis assignment – and i’m stuck!

    I need to identify:
    1) the form and meaning (i’m checking the dictionary for pronunciation)
    2) Predict difficulties students might have with the following sentence

    Fiona is very sociable

Any help would be most appreciated.

    Thank you!

The sentence you mentioned is simple, there should not be any difficulty.
It consists on subject and predicate.

Oh yes, they may exasperate at seeing two nouns; one as subject and the other as a part of predicte.
So tell them that a single part of speech can play more than one role in English.
