Can anybody help me? I’m moving to Spain. I’m a professor of English in Chile, my country, but I don’t know where to look for a position in madrid, what are the best places and what’s the average salary over there. Does anybody know?
Thanks!

Hi Evelyn

Are you planning to secure a job before you go, or when you arrive? Either way, I would contact some schools directly (there’s a good number in the list on this site here.)

This will give you a good idea of what schools are looking for in their teachers, whether they recruit both native and non-native speakers, etc. (I don’t know what qualifications and experience you have so it’s difficult to assess your employability in Spain).

Keep a look out too on this site and others for jobs in Madrid as they come up.

In terms of salary, you can probably expect anywhere between 800 and 1100 euros for a full time job in Madrid, depending on the number of hours you teach each week.

Hope that helps.
