I’ve recently (a few days ago) completed an online Tefl course of 120 hours.
Over the past 2 weeks, I have been applying for various teaching jobs, knowing I will complete the course very soon.
Most of my applications didn’t progress very far, but one Italian school took an interest in me.
I had 2 Skype interviews, 3 phone interviews and a gave a demo lesson to one of their students (10 minute lesson of just chatter to be honest). It all went really well, and two days ago they offered me a job.
I accepted the offer and move to Italy next week.
This has been a whirlwind of an experience and am extremely nervous of what’s to come.
The school has very good credentials, with most of their personel following the same route that I’m currently taking.
I’m just looking for some advice really. It’s my first teaching job, and the school is well aware of this. What sold them was my confidence in creating a relationship with the student during the lesson.
The advice that I’m looking for is from people who have been my position (what to expect, how long did it take them to get comfortable, what were the obstacles, what did they enjoy most. Those kind of things).
The students I’ll teach are 16+, and that school provides the teaching content.
Thanks in advance guys.

Sorry I missed this when you posted it. Have you moved to Italy now? How is it going?
