My 3rd grade Junior High School students in Japan have just been introduced to "What to…" How to…" "When to…" "Why to…"

Does anyone help me with fun activities I could use to teach how to use and create their own sentences?

    Thanks!

Can you give some example sentences which use these forms? I’m struggling to think of when we would use them, except maybe as headlines for self-help articles like

    – What to do if you lose your passport
    – How to fix a leaking tap

…and I can’t imagine this function being very useful to 3rd graders!

I agree. Also, in the case of “Why to…”, it is kind of natural to me to rather say “Why not to…”, for example ” Why not to be noisy during class?”, which again sounds a bit weird.

    You can use sentences like-
    What to say?
    How to play?
Children can easily understand these types of sentence.
