I worked there a few years ago – When I was there the DOS was really friendly and fought tooth and nail for the teachers. He has since left and been replaced by another.

    *** MOD EDIT ***

There is no doubt that the accomadation they offer varies from teacher to teacher and it’s basically "pot luck" on whether you get nice one or a crappy one.

You will have fights with the schools who will meddle in your classes and tell you how to teach the students.

You could be working 6 days a week including some evening work.

You could be teaching every level from kindergarten, primary /middle school to adult classes.

I was paid 100rmb overtime for every hour over 25hrs per week (I don’t know if this still stands).

If you had to do a promtion the DOS would try and get you some money for your time (again I don’t know how it stands now).

However as crazy as it sounds I had a fantastic time there and have no regrets.
