    Hey Sammy!
I have never done that course before but felt I needed to dish some advise that I wish someone gave me when I was starting out.
After teaching for almost 7 years, ALL over the world and with MANY different language schools and companies I’ve discovered that being certified means little to nothing!

The biggest thing schools look for is education and experience.

Most of the top language companies in the world will defiantly hire you with no certification!

You’re a shoe-in for jobs with them in Europe.
If you REALLY want to get certified, try http://www.teflonline.com
They’re cheep, easy, and just as good as other TEFL certification programs. I got one from there as well as many of my other TEFL coworkers.

Hope that helped and good luck!

Hi There, I dont know if you’re all sorted with this one, but I am a teacher trainer and I would say that the necessity for a valid TEFL certificate varies depending on where you want to teach. You could try: http://www.fyne-tefl.info for more information. BiBi

I don’t agree with the above for one very simple reason: becoming a teacher is to do with supplying an educational product. That means that students pay money to receive the skills you have learnt in order to progress in some educational field – in our case, language learning. An untrained, or under trained teacher will do damage which can last a lifetime. As teachers we have a professional responsibility to ensure that 1) we are properly trained initially and 2) that we continue our training by undertaking CPD for the rest of our careers. Please don’t listen to people who say doing a course is easy, it shouldn’t be, it should be challenging and testing and it should make you aware that teaching /learning language is not like teaching /learning anything else. it is a sensitive and highly skilled process; if you want to do it, do it well or not at all.

You might like to check TEFL Course Review. This is a site where TESL/TEFL courses are independently reviewed and rated by people who actually took each course.

    Hi Sammy,

No I have never done that specific TEFL course. I did the TEFL Worldwide Course in Prague in October 2005 (http://www.teflworldwideprague.com) . I would highly recommend to do this course as their teacher trainers are outstanding and really showed me different methodolgy and practices when it comes to teaching English to foreigners. I had moved from Califonia at the time, had NEVER been in front of a classroom before and by the end of the course felt completely comfortable to be in front of a classroom because of the guidance and support I was shown during this 4 week course.

They also have contacts to language courses all over the world, so while they do not "guarantee" a job they certainly do the most they can to help you find a job wherever you’d like to teach. Hope this helps :)

    HI there

I don’t know about TEFL UK but I did mine at TEFL CHINA and they are well recognised throughout the world. Also I was very impressed by the professionality of the course. Especially the quantity of teaching practice at various levels and feedback was very helpful.
If you have the time to do a course in China you should defintely check out http://www.teflchina.com.cn

    Cheers
