I am a college student interested in writing as a career. I am particularly interested in autobiographical writing. But before I do that I need to polish my writing skills. I need help in that .

It sounds like you need to enrol on a Creative Writing course. Try a Google search and you should find quite a few.

Read some famous autobiographies by prominent writers especially Charles Dickens and Joseph Conrad. You will have a better idea about how to write effectively.
