Not correct – we can’t pay "them people".

    "Them" is an object pronoun.

The type of word you need before "people" is a demonstrative determiner

A determiner comes before and introduces a noun. A demonstrative determiner shows us the identity of the noun which follows it. The demonstrative determiners in English are "this", "that", "these" and "those".

    Hope that helps.
