The subs are huge but the mods all have sock puppets that they use to recommend you to their own companies that peddle the jobs with the low salaries with blacklisted schools. They all claim these low-ball salaries are “normal” for China (and Korea as well) with their sock puppet accounts. So those reading the posts in the subs start to believe their BS. Not all the mods are recruiters in real life but 5 of the 12 have already been outed. Read this here and only trust the subs where you do not get PMed all the time like r/ESLScams and r/TEFLscams and r/ChinaTEFL. This may help you better understand the corruption and control of reddit subs. http://opnlttr.com/letter/tefl-teachers-uniting-new-reddit-sub-rteflscams-shrink-victim-count-korea-and-china-job-scams

Before applying for teaching jobs in China be sure to review http://chinascamwatch.org and the r/ChinaTEFL sub at Reddit so you don’t get screwed.
