We’ve received a couple of emails this week from teachers who have fallen vicitm to a scammer claiming to represent Bladins International School in Malmo, Sweden.

Bladins is a genuine, reputable school (http://www.bladins.se/), and the scammer even claims to be a person listed on the real school’s website.

The scammer asks for money for an accommodation deposit amongst other things.

What gives it away is the email address: jobs@bladinschool.com. If this was an email address from the genuine school it would have the domain extension .se, like the website.

I almost got caught up in this scam, but realised when they started to ask for money that it was a scam after all. The other thing that gave them away was the fact that they stated they were going to offer the job despite not having a phone or skype interview.
I checked out the website as I was receiving replies from someone listed on their website. All very convincing.

I have been conversing with a job post that I have found on multiple job sites for another school in Gothenburg, Sweden. Same exact set up, posing as an actual employee, fake domains, and offering a handsome salary. However the only thing they were asking for was my name and degree/certifications. I emailed the HR representative to follow up on my app and she responded they currently did not have any job openings.
