I was teaching at Colegio Americano for 2 years, and I had probably the two best years of my life there. I do not recognize myself in this description of the school. *Moderator edit: Refers to an earlier post deleted due to violation of posting guidelines
However, it is important to remember that you are not in the US and the culture is quite different. The way of administrating the school is of course different from the US because the culture is different and they have to apply to different needs. I always had a good relation with the administration and I felt support whenever I needed it. It is an expensive school and the parents do have more power than in other schools, but that is part of the culture. However, I always felt the support of the administration when I had an issue with a parent. If it wasn’t for the low salaries I wouldn’t mind working there again in the future. Actually I would love to.
