I should have seen the deceit coming as the contract for this English school was four pages of Italian. I was told one thing when I was hired. I was told that I could leave at any time and there would be NO PENALTY for doing so. That I would simply need to give a 30 day notice and there would be no issues. Imagine my surprise when the school notified me AFTER my oral resignation via email that they were keeping my entire month of salary. After explaining that I was told one thing at my interview and another by my headmaster when I resigned from the position, they agreed to pay me for my worked hours. Almost 500 euros that I still haven’t seen. They said they would pay my bank but then again, they say a lot of things. It’s the gross miscommunication of The British Institute at large that is the reason I resigned from the position and it’s the same reason why I lodge this complaint. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE TAKE A JOB FROM THE BRITISH INSTITUTE. They are fraudulent and manipulative and highly unprofessional.
