Which is the better website, Tefl.org.uk or I-to-I?

Hi everyone,
I’ve been thinking about doing a tefl course for some time now. I’ve recently seen a few jobs in Turkey that really interest me that require a tefl certificate. Can anyone recommend which company I should go with? I’ve whittled it down to tefl.org.uk or I-to-I. Thought I should also mention I can only do online courses at this time. Thank you :)

Hi Abbi

Both are reputable organisations, so having either company name as your course provider on your CV will be fine.

The question is more about the length and type of course you choose.

If you take the 168 hour level 5 course with Tefl.org, for example, this will be better for your CV than their 40 hour course. Similarly, if you take the 180 hour level 5 course with i-to-i, this will be better for your CV than one of their shorter courses.

But, if you choose the same type and length of course from either provider (the level 5 course for example), it will make very little difference for your CV whether that came from Tefl.org or i to i.

So the question then becomes what else do they offer? Are there any extras they provide that might sway your decision? Do they have an offer on price that might help? Or simply, do you just get a better feel for one or the other from looking at their sites and reviews? Both offer different things, which have more or less perceived value depending on the person.

Hope that helps!

Dan
