Hi.

I have recently been in contact with a school called, ‘Berlitz’, based in Turkey. Whilst browsing the Internet I came across a thread that completely rubbished the school. As you can imagine, this made me rather nervous about the prospect of working there. I am aware that this is only one source and four years old. Does anyone have any current views on this school, negative or positive?

    Thanks!

    Naomi.

Berlitz have schools all over the world and use their own method, called the "Berlitz method", which has similarities with the Direct method of teaching a foreign langauge.

I think teachers are required to follow this method very strictly in the classroom. This suits some teachers very well, and no doubt many students too, but may be quite restrictive to teachers who like to use a variety of methods according to the needs and learning styles of their students.
