Durban Language Centre is a beautiful and relaxed language school and Cambridge CELTA and TKT teacher training centre in Durban, South Africa. Our focus is on high quality, personalised language courses, and most of our teachers have at least a CELTA, and a degree, as well as several years of teaching experience, and many were taught by our director, DLC offers General English, from beginner to advanced, Business English, Aviation English, IELTS and CAE preparation, Spanish, German, French and Zulu. Our director of studies holds an MA in Linguistics, and a DELTA from Cambridge, which allows us to develop and design personalised courses and materials. She has taught CELTAs internationally since 2002, and became an IELTS assessor for the British Council in 2008. Durban is a sub-tropical paradise, with gorgeous swimming and surfing beaches 10 minutes from the school (east). The Drakensburg Mountains (west) the Hlhuhluwe and Umfolozi game reserves and St Lucia Wetlands (north) are a 2.5 hour drive from the school, and a range of shopping and dining options, from fresh fruit and vegetable markets, to fine dining are available within a short walk. The school also offers free tea, coffee, and ice water during breaks, as well as free wireless internet, or use of a school computer during breaks. All required materials are provided. On Tuesdays we provide halaal hot dogs for 'Hot Dog' day, and once a month we hold a Cultural Lunch where current students and alumni make and share food from their own countries.
