Think of an alternative

Posted by Sandra

Language point: Vocabulary

After doing a reading comprehension with your students, you could extend it by writing one of the paragraphs up on the board.

Get your students to identify all of the verbs they can see in the text. Erase them and ask your students if they can think of an alternative for each verb you've erased.

You could then ask them to identify all the adjectives, adverbs, prepositions or linkers and do the same.
