The colour debate

Posted by Kara

Language point: Speaking/debating

Divide your group into two teams.

Write a colour on a piece of paper and ask team A to brainstorm everything that is good about that colour (associations can be used), for example... plants are green and without plants we wouldn't have any oxygen to breathe! Write down another colour for team B and ask them to do the same.

After about 20 minutes, ask the whole group to come together and team A reads one of their points aloud. Team B must repond to this "good point" and try to find something negative about it. Team A can then respond to this and it can go back and forth until you feel you've heard enough and can award a point to the team with the best argument.
