Tic Tac Toe!

Draw a tic tac toe grid on the board and put a verb in each square. If you want to practise more than one tense, write the tenses alongside the verbs.

Divide your class into two groups. One group is X and the other O.

Toss a coin to start!

The team chooses a square and has 30 seconds (you may want to alter this time according to your group) to make a gramatically correct sentence in the tense that you are practising (or the tense in the square with the verb).

If the sentence is correct, mark that square with an X/O and then play passes to the other team. If the sentence is incorrect, play passes directly to the other team.

Team with three in a row wins!
