Description

Job description and duties:

1. Curriculum design and lesson planning
If necessary, help the academic team to improve or design course curriculum. Each course starts with a complete curriculum.

Each session has a complete lesson plan (please see the lesson plan templates) for both the teachers and the students. The student version should be uploaded to the platform at least one day before the session.

2. Teaching
• Arrive at class 10 minutes before it starts; end the class on time

• No case of absence from class with short notice unless in case of sudden incidences

• No verbal or physical bullying of students and no sexual harassment to students

• No case of pupils' withdrawal from class because of evidence-supported poor teaching quality (e.g. teacher's not punctual, forget to bring text books, bullying pupils, not prepared for the lesson, etc.)

• Conduct quizzes, tests, exams according to the curriculum

• Report students' scores to the administrator on time

• Complete mid-term and end-term student evaluation on time

• Fill out teaching process record, and give it to the administrator after every session

• Keep an attendance record on the students' learning passports

• Meet the parents in the last five minutes of each session, briefing them the lesson and the homework

• Assign the suitable homework according to the syllabus, correct and comment the homework in time

• Check students’ homework in time and give students, teaching assistant and parents feedback instantly

• Keep the administrators, parents and teaching assistant informed of any problems or misbehaviour of the students

• Communicate with teaching assistant in time to make sure the class begins and ends successfully

3. Learning Support
• Conduct one-to-one parent meeting at least twice a term
• Keep a record of students' after-class activities and teacher-parent communication face-to-face, via telephone, email, etc.

4. Professional Development
• Participate in and contribute to weekly academic workshop
• Join research projects, local symposiums and professional training activities

5. Student recruitment and retention
• Conduct placement tests to potential students
• Student retention rate reaches 80% and above
• Parent satisfaction rate reaches 90% and above in demo or open classes

6. Other contributions
Contribute innovative ideas concerning the development of the school; play key roles in academic team work and projects; bring new projects or courses to school, etc.

Requirements

• Native English speakers or those who have obtained their Bachelor’s Degree or above in an English-speaking country
• Age: 22 to 60
• Bachelor’s degree or above
• Clean criminal background

You fulfil at least one of the following three requirements:
1) Major in Education for their Bachelor’s Degree or above
2) Have at least two years of teaching experience since graduation of college
3) Have obtained a teaching certificate such as: Educator Certificate, TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, DELTA, etc. (with at least 120 hours of training)
