Centre: Hurst College, Hurstpierpoint, Sussex, U.K.
Dates: 6 week contracts: Wed 4 July - Wed 15 Aug
REMUNERATION PACKAGE includes:
•Salary: £205.00 per week (Wed to Wed), starting Wed 4 July (Less N.I. & Tax if applicable)
•Accommodation for duration of contract. No expenses for your summer!
•Full board (3 meals & 2 refreshment breaks daily).
•Sports / Recreation facilities available in certain sessions, and a lovely rural healthy setting!
•£5 lunch money, in addition to packed lunch, when on Full-Day Excursion Duty.
•£50 contribution to travel expenses to Hurstpierpoint (Less Tax).
•1 day off per week (7:00pm – 7:00pm), which day TBC.
•2 day Induction Course from Mon 2 July – Tue 3 (prior to the students’ arrival).
THE AIMS OF THE COURSE:
•To introduce the English language to young foreign students
•To provide a carefully planned sports programme for the students to join voluntarily
•To provide a carefully planned recreational and cultural activities programme both on campus (e.g. discos) and off campus (e.g. excursions).
THE TEACHERS:
We are looking for teachers who:
•Are native speakers.
•Are enthusiastic and willing to work with young students.
•Have relevant EFL training / degrees / certificates.
•Have classroom experience at any level.
•Are prepared to accept other duties as well as teaching (i.e. excursions, residential supervision).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The daily responsibilities include:
•EFL Lessons - Teach 2 lessons of 90 minutes, 5 mornings a week: Fri, Sat, Sun, Tue, Wed.
•Materials - Plan and organise materials for the above teaching duties from a range of resources (we do not have set course-books).
•Supervision Duty Rotas - Supervisory house duties and some activities: on a daily afternoon / evening / night duty-rota basis including: Residential - Bedtime and wake-up duty: approx 3 times per week overnight.
The other regular responsibilities include:
•EFL Project - Take 3 evening ‘homework’ sessions per week: Fri, Sun, Wed.
•Testing - Oral testing and marking multiple choice placement tests: once a week.
•Certificates & Reports - Write final certificates and reports: once a week.
•MC Performance, MC Sport & other Activities Programme - Participation in social activities programme: bi-weekly Talent Show, bi-weekly Sports Day, twice-weekly Disco, weekly Welcome Assembly and Farewell Presentation.
•MC Discovery Excursions - Attendance & supervision on full-day and afternoon excursions: one per week, respectively.
